On Thursday, Lucy and I flew up to San Francisco to meet Grandma for a little girls' time in the city. Always fun to be a tourist in your own city- not that my mom or I even live in the Bay Area anymore- but it felt like going home all the same! We had such a great time- and really packed it in. While we weren't able to catch up with everyone- we were able to see quite a few friends in such a short time- and Lucy was a hit. Of course.
Thursday night the Goulding brothers met up with us girls for an early bird dinner. Lucy was a champ, but then got a little tired, so cashed out on the booth while we polished off a yummy dinner and several desserts at the Magnolia Gastropub.
We called it an early night after dinner- not that it mattered because Lucy was so excited to be in San Francisco that she decided sleeping was not on her to-do list. My mom claimed it would be totally fine to share a room with us- but Friday morning, after nearly walking into oncoming traffic and literally grabbing the busboy at breakfast insisting on coffee NOW - led me to believe she's a bit out of practice with the whole baby in the night experience...
And speaking of breakfast- we were able to meet up with Uncle Bear for a decadent bite at the Mandarin Oriental Friday morning. Lucy was excited to meet him and hear all about the glory that is all things Cal.
Then we were off to the Legion of Honor to catch the end of the Cartier exhibit with Aunties Claire and Krista and Uncle Kevin. This is where Lucy learned all the important lessons about jewels and how diamonds are a girl's best friend. I explained to her that she's never allowed to date, ever, for her poor father's sake- but she should also hold out for an engagement ring like Grace Kelly's. I feel as though that's a safe enough filter to keep her off the market for awhile?

After getting my fingers moistly pinched in a baby goat's mouth last weekend - it reminded me of your visit with Lucy!
Haha - great to see you both and meet Lucy at Magnolia. What a fun girl!
