I barreled through, mainly because Ben was a saint and totally catered to my volatile emotional state.
Highlight of Ben's week was probably the 85 he shot at Encino Balboa on Friday afternoon. This beats his last personal best of an 89, and considering I'm psyched to shoot an 85 on the front nine, I'm pretty darn impressed and proud of him.
We celebrated with a great dinner with Summer and Tom Friday evening in El Segundo. Summer and I started off by commiserating on lame office gossip- but the boys eventually talked us round to more important things like their amazing baby on the way (allegedly a boy that Tom's fondly trying to coin Frank V or "Cinco" much to his wife's dismay).
Then hooray! my dad arrived to spend the weekend with us- which is always a wonderful treat. That said, the poor guy spent the entirety of Saturday going from random furniture stores to fabric stores of all the random places. Ben and I are on a hunt for the perfect shade of blue for a couch (all of you single people out there must be really jealous of the exciting lives that married people lead...) Anyway, Ben actually FOUND it late in the day all by himself.
We snagged a good dinner at Cafe Montana and took in a late showing of "The Incredible Hulk"- which we all found very entertaining (though "Ironman" remains my fave summer flick so far). Basically the new "Avengers" movie promises to be almost too exciting for me. Who knew I was such a sucker for the Marvel enterprise?
Tomorrow we're going to make the most out of Father's Day with my dad, Stephanie and Albert have hinted at a cameo sometime in the afternoon (hopefully with Baby Natalie) and Ben's going to the Laker Game with Mike. Go Lakers!!! Even though they hardly deserve to win after their choke and loss of a 24 point lead in game 4.
