Then. Well then - no joke- no more than 8 feet in front of us, I spotted dorsals. Granted they turned out to be dolphins, which most people find to be a spiritual and lovely sighting. BUT - the fins alone caused me to yelp in fear, jump off my board and lunge towards the beach, and... I started crying. If that weren't enough I started hyperventilating while I was crying, and whimpering that Ben had "thrown me to the wolves." I'm a super fun surfing buddy.
Ben tried to be patient with me and talk me off the ledge and into the white water to "practice catching waves and standing up."
Clearly I'm a natural.

Sounds like the morning turned out just as Ben wanted it to :) All that convincing to have a hyperventilating, crying wife on the sand! Still - amazing to see dolphins so close.
sharks scare the bejesus out of me too...that's why i don't go near the water when i'm at the beach
