Ben took the girls out to a fantastic birthday dinner at Rivera, downtown. Lucy was on exceptional behavior, and the restaurant (not an establishment that carries high chairs...) was really cool about having Lucy there, and she got many compliments for being so beautiful and well behaved. We agreed. Then we got home from dinner and found an elephant waiting outside for us! My father had flown down and surprised us all- which was so great- though Lucy's enthusiasm was a bit delayed as she had fallen asleep on the way home from dinner.
Sunday we had an early breakfast out, some Lucy napping, followed by some trick-or-treating on Montana. My mother took control of the candy situation and was basically throwing elbows knocking other kids out of the way to get "Lucy" her candy. It was pretty impressive. And then that night we passed out candy to trick-or-treaters, though Ben was less than impressed with my idea of making kids first stick their hands in a bowl of "brains and eyeballs" and threw out my concoction after our first round of kids. Boo.
While 31 is a totally lame birthday, turning 31 on the 31st with my amazing mom and dad, my fantabulous husband, my perfect puppies, and my beautiful and heartbreakingly perfect baby girl is quite alright.
