Long Weekend

We're enjoying a long weekend here in LA. The weather has been perfect, and with no real plan we've managed to entertain ourselves quite well. On Friday I went to the ballet with Emily and Claire... little Lucy was a little too young to go this time so Ben was on duty. It was beautiful- though the dancer's extreme fitness was making feel like I needed to attend the gym. Post baby I guess.

On Saturday there was some surfing for Ben, Lucy had a play date with Finley at the park and then spent most of the afternoon hanging out with her friend Brooklyn here at the house. She was a little disgruntled at our repeated attempts to keep a hat covering her head, but she got used to it after she realized how cute she looked.

Lucy has also been doing a great deal of finger painting- and only eating paint part of the time.

I tried to give Lucy pig tails. She allowed them to stay in about 5 minutes.

Last night Jana and Lance had us over for dinner and then we went out- the rest of the crew longer than me- I came home to relieve the baby sitter and tuck myself in... I don't know what she did when she put Lucy to bed- but Lucy slept through the night for the first time in weeks. We might need to have her come over every night. Unfortunately this didn't translate into a good night of sleep for me- pregnancy and urgent needs to pee keeping me up, Ben coming in late, and then waking me at 4am to tell me he couldn't sleep without Lucy in our bed anymore. He seems to be sleeping just fine right now as Lucy and I have been up for the past 3 hours with no sign of him. He better get up soon- the Goose has her swimming lesson, and after seeing all the dads in the pool last week- Ben has decided he wants to go in with her today and has requested I sit inside or don't come at all so as to "distract" Lucy. Party Pooper.

So all this and it's only Sunday morning of the long weekend! xo
