Oh Canada

We just got home from a little family vacay to Canada! We rarely get away just the three (four) of us- and it was such a nice trip for all. We spent a couple of nights in Lake Louise, followed by two more in Banff. There was lots of hiking, swimming (Lucy basically kept her "suit" on at all times and got very upset when you tried to change her), golf, eating, boating, visiting "horsies," looking for "chips" (chipmunks- someone happens to be a very big fan), and moose sighting (Ben- it was his goal of the trip but he then got very excited when we came across a family of mountain goats).

All the pics of the area always show the ridiculously blue glacier water- and it's true- the water is almost an unnatural shade of blue, making one take many many pics of it- which never seem to do it justice. But we tried nonetheless. Here is a small sub section...

Lake Louise:

Lucy was told she was going on a special adventure and she got excited by the prospect:

Being on the "ship" was very exciting- though by the time we got to the end of the lake, someone was very eager to get back so we paddled like crazy on the return trip. That was our hotel in the background... not a bad view from the windows...

Lake Moraine is near Lake Louise and has even more spectacular water than Lake Louise in our opinion. Canada may or may not agree as this lake is featured on their $20.
