First up was Heidi's really adorable Open House at her school. In 4th grade they learn all about CA history and so they all dressed up for the Gold Rush era, sang songs and acted as characters back in the day.
Then the pups and I hit the road for Grass Valley for a long weekend with the parents. It was incredibly beautiful up there and the sun was blazing with temperatures in the high 80's and 90's. This inspired us to spend Saturday at a nearby lake, though as we drove there, thunder and lightening struck and it started raining. By the time we got to the lake, the rain had stopped, so we had a picnic, Charlie dove into the lake and wouldn't get out, and the men went fishing. All my pops hooked was his own arm.
My other weekend highlights were: not throwing up for three straight days, and reading the "Twilight" book in 24 hours. I was initially suspect of this random vampire series, but I'm officially sucked in and heading to Barnes and Noble tomorrow to purchase the remaining three...
