Weeks 1-7 were going great. Then I got the swine flu. Pretty much after week 7 it's been non stop nausea and puking. I eat a lot of cheese to try and make myself feel better, which works for about two minutes, but now I'm fearing I'm going to be tipping the scales in a matter of minutes. Probably TMI, but I literally pee about 3 times an hour. Ben's pretty thrilled with my newfound curves (we're hoping they stay).
It's quite the relief to have this out in the open now as we've been dying to tell people but I was very superstitious about the whole 1st trimester thing. Ben's probably more relieved, as he's been doubling up on the cocktails whenever we're out- drinking mine on the sly. Apologies to anyone we fooled or outright lied to...
And yeah. I peed on these. I cried.
4 weeks. I already miss that belly:
8 weeks- not much to show, but getting pretty soft...
and 12 weeks (granted if the picture were taken at night my belly would be about 10x this size, but for my own sanity and ego we choose to take morning pictures and do morning weigh ins...):
And I'll also post a couple pics of my anniversary gift from Ben which I didn't want to post before since it was kind of leading in nature. How awesome is this rocking chair? I'm a huge fan of rocking chairs- and Ben found this one at this vintage shop in Venice. It's a 1950's Danish piece. The pups are fans, as am I. Once we figure out what the color scheme of the room will be we'll recover the cushions. It was such an amazing and thoughtful gift. I just LUV it!
Also- how amazing is Auntie Heidi? We were out of town, and when we came home we found this incredible basket full of books for Baby Lucas and really sweet notes to Ben, the Baby and me. I cried. Again. Teacher/Auntie Heidi feels that board books are essential to a child's reading development. The one thing I look forward to the most is reading to the baby, so this was very VERY fun to come home to!
So yeah... that's our update... other than that, there isn't much on our end to report...
