Our Little Miracle

Hey all! We are SO pleased to announce that our little bundle of JOY has arrived! I have about a thousand pictures already- but am just going to do a quick post right now since I am sure to overload this regularly...

But as a quick recap- I had my first contraction at 6:30 in the morning on Tuesday, December 8th. We didn't know if it was the real thing or not- so headed into our scheduled doctor's appointment at 8:15. While there, the contractions started coming quicker and became less and less fun, to the point where I puked in our doctor's office as he was discussing possible inducement that night. At that point they decided this might be the real thing- and wheeled me over to the hospital and we got checked in directly. We thought we had some time to kill- but things progressed quicker than anyone expected- and before we knew it - it was time to push and our little Lucy was born with an excellent set of lungs and a pretty impressive conehead at 3:55pm.

She's seriously so beautiful, and we're shamelessly in love with her. We decided to come home from the hospital a night early to start getting settled in- so we checked out last night, and after a quick stop for sushi as demanded by this hungry mama, Ben, Lucy and I arrived home and we all proceeded to fall asleep on the couch together in the middle of the Top Chef finale.

She's been amazing, and though we know it is bound to get challenging, we are really loving every second of it. Even the diapers don't seem bad as we eagerly fill in her little "output" schedule for our first pediatrician appointment tomorrow...

A huge thank you to everyone for all your calls, visits, notes, prayers, love and support. We promise to get back to everyone at some point- we're just a little distracted by our tiny little girl. It's remarkable how fun it is to watch her sleep.

What a wonderful Christmas present she is. I can't thank Ben enough for giving her to me. I love my little family. (I think we're bringing the pups home from Camp Carol tonight and I just know they are going to be just as fascinated with their sister as we are!)
