Palm Springs with the Family

We spent the holiday weekend in Palm Springs with both families - which was such a treat! Definitely for us- we hope for them. Uncle Andrew made the mistake of rooming next to us... and Little Miss Lucy let it be known that if we are going to keep her on the road, she was going to keep us up at night... Honestly she was a total dream all trip- but sleeping - which up till now has been her forte- seemed to be a little less interesting to Lucy in the evening hours than we were used to. The boys got in some golf, the girls got in some pool time, Heidi got in a hike, some yoga and who knows what other activity! There was lots of Lucy holding, lots of puppy loving, and of course eating.

My 3 little ones sleeping:

Ben's new segment of "Where's Lucy?"

The little love being held. She was passed from person to person as we all wanted to hold her. Heidi has a signature move we call the "SuperLucy."

A momentous part of the trip was Lucy's first swim. She was a total trooper- and I think this actually aided her bathtime, as she's had 3 relatively calm baths since her swimming expeditions. And by calm, I mean she's not screaming bloody murder, and turning beet red from total indignation. That said- her swimtime also marked the first time she peed all over Bearpa, and then the first time she both pooped and peed all over yours truly. Cute! Charlie got in on the swimming action, while Jackson hid underneath YaYa. He didn't totally escape the water though, as Andrew and Ben really wanted to throw him in the middle of the pool, so I carried him in to prove he could in fact swim- he just chooses not to. Andrew thinks that Charlie is the "dumb jock" and Jackson is the "smart nerdy unathletic" one.

Hey guys! Just chillin' on my chair...

Um... I seem to have fallen...

But I'm ok because I found my thumb and my brother/dog Charlie is licking my head.

And yes... Ben thought it would be neat to get a shot of Lucy riding Charlie like a horse. Lucy wasn't a big fan - which Ben approved of because he refuses to ever let her pursue life as an equestrian due to his dislike (I think fear) of horses.
