A Whole Month

Lucy is a whole month old today! Pretty crazy how quickly it all goes. Ben and I braved the big "first night out" last night, going for an awesome dinner at our local Gjelina. Their pot of butterscotch is seriously so insanely amazing. Auntie H kindly Lucy-sat for us. I was focused on getting her as tired as possible before we left- so I bathed her (which qualifies as child abuse in Lucy's book), fed her excessively, and then we were off! I did however, forget to change her diaper - and while she can sit in poop for hours on end happy as a clam, a wet diaper is a bit of a national emergency for Lucy- and she kept Auntie H busy with her crying for 99% of our absence... Heidi did brave the whole diaper change thing- and as far as we could tell- did a perfect job- however she did bring a bunch of "product" into the mix- which I confess, confuses me. Lotions and diaper creams were all around- so I think Lucy is plenty moisturized on her bum. Thanks again Heidi!

In other news- Lucy went for her 1 month appointment at the pediatrician's. She continues to gain weight and is now 8 lbs, 15 oz, and 21 inches long. Both putting her right at the 50th percentile. Her head is in the 75th percentile. So she's got a big head. Which makes sense as she is clearly a prodigy and totally advanced for her age in our humble opinions.

Hope everyone is heading into a great weekend. Ben's looking at some good waves today, as well as his much anticipated viewing of Avatar- perhaps I can coerce him into a review for the blog since he thinks it's too baby-centric these days. 70 and sunny here in LA... saw the weather reports for all you suckers back east... looks frigid!

Love the picture of her crying - too cute! So glad you guys braved the first night out on your own - so important! And a "pot of butterscotch" - this sounds like something I need to try....

She'll blow Braden out of the water with her smarts :) He's only 25th percentile! Riley tipped 95th percentile briefly and I was worried! ha. That's so awesome you got a night out together. Did it feel a bit weird at first...like someone was missing?

Just confessing, as requested, that this is the third time I've looked at the blog today. I am having Amie, Ben and Lucy withdrawl.
