We're onto Day 2 of the dreaded sleep training. Day 1 was pretty awful for all involved. Of the 14 (yes 14!) hours that our latest bible claims babies Lucy's age should be sleeping each day, I believe Lucy got a total of 6, and that was with 3 naps during the day. She's also supposed to be using a "lovey." (ie - a mommy replacement for the crib in the form of a blanky or a stuffed animal). Lucy doesn't love her lovey just yet. In fact, I think she hates it and has taken to throwing it whenever it comes within arms reach.
That said, last night, our little champ was either so completely exhausted from the training, or maybe she's getting the hang of something- but she went to sleep around 8:15 (after an hour and a half of trying mind you...), and slept until I WOKE HER UP, at 7:30- (because she's also not supposed to sleep past 7:30 or it throws off the whole new schedule). I mean- she did wake up 4 times in the night for about 20-30 minutes each time- so it wasn't straight through... but it was probably the most sleep she's ever had. So? We're cautiously optimistic? Easily could have been a fluke, but for every one's sake... I'm hoping we're turning a corner.
We're also baby proofing over here. Outlet coverings, corner paddings, and Benny Boy's got the drill out installing the baby gates for the stairs. He actually thinks that their main purpose is to keep the dogs out- to which I pointedly disagree.

I think all that hair she's getting will become her "lovey" and start twirling it like her mom does
She actually does yank on her hair a bit when she's trying to fall asleep....
good work!
Fingers crossed!
atta girl, keep at it!
