Music and Books

Steve O'Neil arrived in LA yesterday- he officially drove across the country to move to our sunny city. We're very excited to have him. We welcomed him, by letting him know he'd be watching Lucy, while we went to a concert in Echo Park with Jana and Lance. And off we went. Echo Park is a hipster's paradise people. And you know what's in with hip kids these days? Bowl cuts. I kid you not. There were at least 5 guys at the show with legitimate bowl cuts. (Example- the Lucas brothers circa 1984).

Ben was happy to see that his 80's 'stache was also well represented. My husband is so in tune with kids these days...

The concert was great. We went to see Tennis - but ended up enjoying all three bands. Ben said Lord Huron was his favorite. I thought they were all great- but Lord Huron probably had the best stage presence. Check 'em out.

And it's probably safe to say that I have an addiction to buying books for my daughter. Her shelves are packed with them, and yet I just keep getting more and more and more. We just happened to be in Barnes and Noble yesterday, so I told Lucy she could pick out one Valentine's Day book. She chose an Elmo-themed one- which leads me to believe she's actually really understanding the whole Sesame Street thing. So we got it for her. Well, that and a couple others of my own choosing...

That picture of Ben and Andrew is absolutely adorable (and the pics of Lucy are always adorable!). And Steve O'Neil as the ideal babysitter - who would have thought it?! Steve, want to be my mother's helper this July on the Italian Riviera?!
