Party Animal and Birthday Festivities

So Lucy doesn't turn 2 for almost another month. But I was dead set on having her birthday party before Baby Boy showed up - since it is possible that he could be born the week of her birthday. I just wanted to make sure we properly celebrated. Lucy was amenable to moving the party up, as my little on likes to party.

Initially- we had planned for her party to be at a nearby park. But then the forecast indicated rain. We briefly considered having it at our house, but the idea of 15 children cooped up in our house with nothing to do in the rain seemed a bit ill-advised.

We finally settled on Books & Cookies in Santa Monica for our venue of choice, and we were greatly pleased with the result. We got to party, and they got to clean up. Fairly ideal when you're 9 months pregnant if you ask me. We had snacks, cupcakes, pizza, cookie decorating, story time, dress up time, singing time... I think Lucy had fun, which was obviously the #1 priority. I was also proud of myself for getting through this year's party without tears. I think it helped knowing that she's not actually 2 yet- so that emotional crisis is averted for another few weeks.

We just love our little (big!) girl so insanely much and enjoy every day that we spend with her. She's getting so big, so smart, so chatty, so amazing, and is this sweet, loving, affectionate, silly, and very brilliant young lady. She truly is the best of both of us and then so much more. She's going to be a great big sister too one of these days. Though hopefully not before this Friday when Breaking Dawn is released, as I plan on seeing that movie before my cinema attendance is over for the foreseeable future.

A sugar-filled delirious but super cuddly and loving little girl that night... Her daddy was quite happy to be the recipient of her affection.
