We are so incredibly thrilled to introduce our little man Wyatt William Lucas to the world. What an incredible joy he is to us all! He was born on Thursday, November 17th at 4:32 in the afternoon, weighing 6lbs and 13.5 oz, and measuring 18 3/4 inches of perfection. I think he's the spitting image of Lucy when she was born and they weighed the same, but he's a little shorter. But he was also born 17 days before she was. Oh my goodness we are so blessed!
So far he has been such a quiet little gentleman. We're used to our crazy and perfect Miss Lucy who never stops and certainly never sleeps. Well Wyatt sleeps. All the time. I know newborns tend to do this- but Lucy never did. I know he will wake up at some point, but again, Lucy never slept. So it's been pretty low key so far! Below are a "few" pics and a couple videos!
Thursday morning, I started having contractions around 7:30- but they weren't getting any closer together or longer or more intense, so I didn't think they were the "real thing." So Lucy and I went to go meet Westin and Malyn at the beach...
This is approximately when my water broke...
I called the doctor who wanted us to check into the hospital- so Lucy and I drove home. This is when I started to get emotional and panicky about leaving Lucy. Luckily Jana and Andrew both agreed to drop everything and come over for the day, and I got my parents on the the road to come down as well. Then I started crying (Ben says hysterical, but I think it was a bit more controlled than that!) and we packed up and left, with Lucy running down the street chasing Westin and uninterested in saying goodbye.
We checked in at exactly noon, things progressed quite quickly, and Wyatt was born at 4:32. Andrew, Jana and Lance brought Lucy over to meet her little brother around 7:30 that evening and Grandma and Bearpa pulled in just before they did. Then Ben went home to put Lucy to bed, my mom agreed to stay with me and Wyatt, then my mom proceeded to fall deeply asleep, as did Wyatt, and I stayed up all night twiddling my thumbs, too much adrenaline pumping through me I guess.

We are truly truly blessed.
