This week and weekend we were fortunate to have not one but two visits with Bear/Bryan. Traveling as he does with the Cal team very religiously, we were able to have a wonderful meal with him in Santa Monica on Thursday at Via Veneto (where we saw Marshall from Alias!!!!), and then we saw him again on Saturday for the Cal/USC game.
The game was a blast despite the fact that Cal was a 21 point underdog- and they really held them off for the most part until the 4th quarter. USC is just crazy and their defense is everywhere! Ben and I are concerned, because every time we've watched a game with Bryan, Cal has lost - and we're starting to wonder if we're the jinx. In other news, the sunset was incredible in Compton.
And finally, I'm happy to report that I have continued my attempts with surfing to the extent that it was finally time to get me my own wetsuit. Or maybe the water had just gotten too cold and Ben was sick of letting me wear his. Either way, I'm now a proud owner of a 4-3 wetsuit, which I'm told I can wear in the artic and still be warm - seeing as I detest being cold. We went out on Saturday and I got up 3 1/2 times...
