Dogs, Deer and Ravens

We're back in Baltimore for the Thanksgiving holiday. We arrived on Saturday evening, dogs and bags in tow. Late Saturday evening, I took the dogs out for a quick walk before bed, and Charlie proceeded to hear and then see a deer - and took off into the woods after the darn thing. Charlie's dark fur does not make for conducive puppy hunting in the woods late at night. I of course was about to throw myself off a cliff if I didn't find him and was shrieking into the night waking all the nearby neighbors. I saw headlights in the distance coming down Manor Road- which is a dark and dangerous road that people race around on- not safe for my little love muffin to be wandering on- and I had dread wash over me, convinced some drunk driver was going to hit my puppy. Instead I hear the car stop and someone say "Oh my gosh look at the cute little puppy!" I went barreling down the hill and there Charlie was, standing in the middle of the road like a deer caught in the headlights. I almost hugged him to death. Jackson never left my side because HE at least knows how to listen.

Yesterday we spent the day at the Ravens game where they proceeded to trounce Philadelphia, much to Navajo's despair as he was a one man cheering machine amidst all the Baltimore fans. The pre-game festivities were spent at the "Purple Patio."
The first half of the game was spent in the stadium listening to the people surrounding us heckle poor Navajo- though he gave it back in a spirited manner.
The second half of the game was spent in the parking lot as the boys decided to play amongst themselves to see who was superior between Baltimore and Philadelphia. I think that's what they were doing- I was sort of losing track of their insightful conversations at this point.
And the remainder of the night was spent with the boys sleeping on the couch, and me playing with the dogs.
P.S. It's totally freezing here- which is a good thing since come Thursday we'll all be working on building up the additional padding on the belly. Except the dogs of course. They are on diets.
