Cornhole, Runs, Beach and Bullmations

Saturday morning, Mike and Ben went golfing at the crack of dawn.   They were up in Simi Valley-  so they got up close and personal with the fires, however the wind was blowing away from them so they won't die from black lung just yet.  That said, they nearly kicked the bucket when Ben sped up down a 60 degree incline and essentially rolled the golf cart over while Mike went diving off yelling "jump!"  It's times like these I wish I had released my iron grip on the camera and gave it over to Ben for the day. 

While the boys re-enacted Happy Gilmore,  Sarah, Hilary and I went and got brunch and beauty treatments.  We are now beautiful.

The remainder of the afternoon was spent playing cornhole in the backyard followed by dinner and drinks in Venice.

Sunday morning, while all the lazy bums continued sleeping at our house, I got up at the wee hour of 6:20 to go do the 4th annual Run for Her - a great event benefiting research for ovarian cancer, with Trish.  Sean came and played cheerleader, and kept asking where Ben was and I had to explain that the early hours are not Ben's friend.  Trish and Sean are the bionic people who do races all the time, so Trish basically had to push me over the finish line, but I did manage to get 15th in my age group.  I think there were about 16 people in that group, but who's keeping track?

 

The rest of Sunday as well as the rest of our time with the dear Atwoods was spent up at Point Dume for the afternoon.  I'm not sure if it was the warm California sun, or the fact that all of Southern California is essentially a bonfire right now- but it was an incredibly warm weekend, which was great for beach weather.  The ash falling out of the sky made it less than optimal, but we made the most out of it.

 

 

Ben and Mike braved surfing.  The challenges being squeezing Ben into my wetsuit, the lack of any real waves, and an incredibly rocky bottom that appears to have gotten the better of Ben's now very cut up hands and feet, as well as a very black and blue bum.  He's hobbling around like he needs one of those hemorrhoid pillows and I really don't know what I can do to help.  

 

Introducing Moo, the world's cutest "bullmation" - who is Pfeiffer's new roommate.  The little bugger has sharp teeth but is so so cute!
