Anyway- the House:
Ben and I arrived Monday night and Tuesday spent the day on the slopes up at Sugar Bowl. Ben wanted to try snowboarding for the first time and I have to say he picked it up really quick. He looked awesome out there and I'm not just saying it because I brag about my husband. I think the surfing and skateboarding help. That said he did his fair share of falling and realized he's not 17 anymore. I raided our ski closet and found a whole host of fantastic 80's wear.
Safety first! Ben got a helmet after cracking his head in the snow...
The rest of the time has basically been spent eating. The Burrhus' joined us for Christmas Eve dinner. SOMEONE was feeding the dogs food from the table which did NOT make me happy. But I guess the dogs had fun with it.
And today has been a great Christmas morning. Poor Ben was woken early with the dogs wide awake ready to open stockings and my parents rustling about downstairs. We celebrated Heidi's birthday and then got to the gifts where everyone was spoiled as usual. My favorite gift was this beautiful nativity scene. I'd really been wanting one for our house' Christmas decorations, and my dad actually MADE the thing from wood and materials from their property. It's so beautiful. He's so crafty. And he must get it from his mom because Grams made us these beautiful tree skirts and aprons this year. I guess I know where I get my love of projects from!
Merry Christmas everyone! Hope you all have a safe and wonderful holiday!
