Also on Christmas day, Uncle Mike came up for dinner! (Isn't it fun that both Ben and I have Uncle Mike's?) Anyway, Uncle Mike came up for dinner on Christmas and brought us this massive box of See's candy- which I proceeded to inhale throughout the rest of my stay. Curses. As always it was so great to have him- though the poor guy got rushed through dinner as Ben and I were rushing off to see "Marley and Me" (tickets Ben got me for Christmas because of my love of dogs and all). The movie was most excellent, I cried for about an hour and Ben let us sleep with the dogs in bed the rest of the trip.
Love to Viola!
Charlie trying to greet my parents' 35 pound cat Shady who suffers from a lack of social life. Unfortunately when he stuck his head in her bum she was not too inclined to be his best friend.
The day after Christmas my sister and dad braved the Apple Store. Clearly a bad idea, they come home rather defeated and with my sister spitting nails that she did NOT get her Iphone because they wanted her to change her number. Ben, my mother and I - quite brilliantly avoided this trip and went into old town Grass Valley for lunch and wine tasting where Ben and I thought it prudent to get a half case.
The amazing family of Gouldings arrived that night bringing with them their hilarious wit and a collaboration of stories with my mother about all the joys of at home birthing and breast feeding. Poor Ben was looking for all nearest exits.
Ski day #2 with all the kids:
We got home last night with the car loaded down to the gills. The drive was pretty event-free other than a major motorcycle accident about an hour from home that stopped traffic completely and made Ben almost drive off an overpass.
Hope everyone had a great holiday and are gearing up for the New Year!
