Jimmy finally met up with Ben and apparently they've been surfing for 6+ hours a day and having a blast. That said- the latest on Ben is that the long hours of surfing has caused some uncomfortable chafing... That and he developed a fever and cold over night. Not sure how you can have both- but he does. According to the latest text message:
"I'm going to la farmacia and try to self medicate so I can go surfing. Also gonna get some zinc oxide for my entire body and a tub of vaseline to bathe in."
Self-medicating from a pharmacy in Central America probably leaves a vast number of options open, so I'm sure he's feeling A-OK.
On this end I've continued to eat mass amounts of cured meats, creamy cheeses and of course daily fixings of cioccolato caldo from Rivoire and yogurt nutella gelato. Ben's off getting tan and fit from surfing and I'm just eating my little heart away here in the rain in Florence. Most excellent. I now I have photos to share since I've gotten around to hooking up my camera:
Me and the beautiful mommy-to-be:
The Florence Christmas lights throughout the streets.
Kate- if one more person asks her when the baby is going to be born:
Viola's amazing grandparents- out and about with Kate AND putting together the Bentley of all baby carriages.
Kate with a quilt a group of lovely ladies made for the baby representing their favorite baby books. It really turned out well and everyone then contributed the book of choice to Viola's English library!
And Viola's super cute room!
That's all for now- I have to rest up for dinner- it's quite the event over here.
