The Lucas B&B

This past weekend we were still being graced with Andrew's presence, who left this morning, as well as a quick visit from Mimi and Crawford- in town from Boston for a wedding.  Always great to visit them and I harassed Mimi about her new career as a photographer, which I think sounds very chic.

The rest of the weekend was a blur of activities- a family day on Saturday, as Heidi, Andrew and Alex all spent most of the day with us, a Sandpiper event yesterday that got me up at the god awful hour of 6am, and bookclub where we had a spirited discussion despite the fact that I wasn't wild about the book.  In the midst of those activities, Ben and I also made a trip to the nursery and picked out some new succulents for our backyard to replace some crusty brown grasses that were planted here prior to our ownership.  While I like to claim the gardening around here as my own domain- Ben took over ripping out and planting the new plants with aplomb and I have to say he did it quickly and super excellently.  I may just have to become foreman and make him do all the heavy lifting from now on.
