Ben and I went to our fancy 3D ultrasound today where it became "officially official," as Ben likes to say, that we are indeed having a girl. We already had the results from 5 weeks ago- but mistakes have been known to happen and it was still pretty early with the last ultrasound. Plus our doctor sort of instilled some doubt in us saying that people often mistake boys for girls. Well it's a girl. Officially.
Above are my two favorite new pics. On the left she looks like she's smiling, though she's probably just preparing to suck her thumb to ensure a large orthodontic bill for us later down the line, and the one on the right has her arms up in the air- and she's sort of pulling the patented "Amie" dance move. For her sake I'm hoping this isn't the case.
But she's very NORMAL and we like normal. Normal kidneys, normal heart, normal brain growth, normal in size, normal in weight, 10 fingers, 10 toes, strong femurs, good looking spine. While I know she's bound to be extraordinarily cute, brilliant, funny, talented etc later in her life, we like normal for now!

I love officially official - Hooray! Cute tummy shot at the 20 week mark. I only have five minutes of internet access, but first chance I get I will be back to read all about Argentina!
can't tell if she looks more like jackson or charlie...i like the new blog name, transitioning from a travel blog to a baby blog?
