Capping off our trip to Argentina, Andrew and Chrystal joined us on our road trip to the country this past weekend, to visit a genuine/working Argentine estancia (ranch). The name of the estancia was El Ombu- and it was absolutely charming! The accommodations were great, very cozy with wood stoves and fireplaces in all the rooms, massive 20 foot ceilings, a game room filled with table games and pool, wonderful food, lots of MEAT, and horses and dogs galore! We basically ate, read, went riding, ate, played games, and ate.
I was in love with this romantic old tree- and our cozy room:
We're not city slickers at all! Ben's and my horse got a little cozy on the first day...
Ben's new best friend Manuel, and the dog I wanted to bring home with me, Oreo. Oreo reminded me of our little pups who I was missing like MAD the whole time - though he sported a hairdo that resembled a bad wig. There was also a grey cat we named Gaucho that Ben befriended and was trying to figure out how to sneak it into the country with us. Basically being on the estancia made me want to adopt a few more dogs, some cats, a goat, a pig, maybe a horse or two, and have about 10 little kids running around. Ben's probably relieved we left when we did.
