Winnie the Pooh Hates Me and Uncle Davis Visits

I was cranky today. Pretty much nothing went as it should. I tutor on Mondays, which Lucy Lou usually sleeps through. Today she cried the whole time. Which was fine because it gave me an excuse to cuddle and hold her the whole time, but I think it was a sign.

Then my chiropractor was running 45 MINUTES LATE. Enter fussy Lucy again, though I was right there with her. Next I stopped by a store where I'm getting something made for Lucy and they were closed for no good reason. Lazy. Next I did a few more failed errands, including braving crosstown traffic to pick up non-toxic ink to cover poor Lucy in. I was under the impression it was necessary to save her precious hand and footprints forever. Hospitals, for some unknown reason, no longer do this for you. Why not? I don't know- but it bugs me.

Fast forward a bit to later today when I decide to get said prints down for posterity. I will say it here: the $1.99 non-toxic ink at The Pump Station is essentially water and makes a mere smudge rather than a print. Don't buy it. I got frustrated after 4 failed attempts and decided to move on to one of those "clay" kits to get Lucy's
handprint. The box has Winnie the Pooh plastered all over it? This thing is also a load of [insert expletive here]. It isn't clay- it's like plastic foam that wouldn't take a print of a tire if you rolled over it with your car. Ben appeared just in time to see me chucking that in the trash with a manic look in my eye. I just wanted to get my adorable little girl's prints people!

So rather than drag her to the local precinct- I decided to risk it all and use a regular (possibly toxic? I don't even know?) stamp pad. This worked pretty well on her feet- but Lucy was just as over it as me by the time we got to her hands and
unclenching those little buggers was delegated to Ben.

Here is the final product. I don't want any subsequent children to feel neglected or unloved if we don't do this for them- but frankly I think I will skip it next time. Or stick their little feet in wet cement or something. Good gracious.

For those who are concerned- Lucy has been bathed and all signs of the possibly unsafe ink are gone. I hope anyway. Totally worth it.

And in other fun news- Uncle Davis visited tonight- as he was in town on business. He brought Lucy an awesome little beanie, and in turn, we let him practice swaddling - as he's due to be a dad any day now.

Lucy will be thankful for your hard work getting her prints one day!!! You will be thankful too :) I have prints of my kids in clay that were done by some professional, they turned out super cute. I will track down the name of the woman for you. SO sorry I haven't called you back yet. When do you leave for your trip? Family dinner soon...or walk with the kids? xoxo

I'm having Lucas withdraw. Come back to LA, please! I know that's selfish and you are having a blast on your respective trips. So be safe, have fun. stay warm and come home soon. xo
