We spent a lot of time working on our interest in water and swimming, and I'm happy to say that we've made some real progress in that department. The ocean she is not wild about- but boy is she displeased when you tell her it is time to leave the pool... She has also started getting attached to things. Mainly Elmo and her "shoes." You'll notice that Lucy sports her little blue jelly sandals in most all of the pictures. She doesn't take them off. She bathes in them, she sleeps in them, she swims in them and she parties in them. I took them off her one night after she fell asleep and I got woken up around 3am with her poking me in my eye saying, "eye," nose, saying, "nose," and when I opened my eyes she looks at me and says, "where my shoes?" At which point they had to go back on and she proceeded to kick Ben and I with those wretched things all night long.
Our first stop in our travels was Kure Beach where the lovely Kaylie and Jimmy hosted us for a couple of nights. We had Jake and Martine's wedding in Wilmington that weekend- so we prepared with a day at the beach and some great company with some of our favorite people- despite the fact that they left LA and moved to North Carolina on us.
It's about time Lucy starts carrying all her own stuff:

Kaylie's recently finished and spectacular deck. My photo doesn't do it justice- but I'm envious of it.
Wedding pics. I have shamefully few pics of the bride and groom who were both stunning to behold. Lucy saw the bride and said, "pincess!" because someone is showing an interest in princesses right now. The wedding was really lovely with all sorts of amazing touches. It was some of the best wedding food we've ever had and we felt free to overindulge. They had a fun photo booth and I really hope I get the pictures from it at some point because they are awesome. It was all held at this repurposed church that is now a skate park in the day. Lucy and I tore up the dance floor.
After the wedding- it was time to gather our things and move on to the next event...
