The Big Apple

We were in NYC this past weekend for Danny and Evan's engagement party. I hadn't been to visit the city since last October so it was great to be back in the Big Apple. Particularly after it stopped raining...

Friday night we got in late- but we managed to motivate ourselves off to Doc Watsons for a bit of late night fun topped with pizza on the way home at 3am. That's right. I'm prego, hanging out in bars till 3am grabbing the late night pizza. Classy girl!

Our awesome hosts and soon to be newlyweds themselves.... and Pre of course!

Saturday was the engagement party at the Noell's. Stacey really pulled most of the weight on this one- which is probably why everything went off without a hitch!

The hosts (sans Ginny who is home getting ready for Baby Comly- our little girl's future playmate but NOT her future boyfriend if Ben has anything to say about it...)

Conveniently- as the engagement party was ending- we were just minutes away from Ben's 30th birthday to ring in! The hardcore attendees of the party moved onto a local bar (this included me- again pregnant and again at a bar late at night) - where more festivities ensued. This was helped along by good ol' Uncle Wes who thought it was important to introduce the fish bowl drinks into the evening. Luckily I was absolved from participating in this activity.

Sunday morning (aka - my love's big day), Benny Boy woke up early with his brother and went for a surfing session in Long Island. Apparently it was AMAZING, and one of the best days Ben's had- but I was asleep in Kate and Russ' apartment during the whole thing- so was unable to take any photographic evidence of the event. Upon his return to the city- we hit the streets and went down to the Meatpacking District to check out the new High Line they've developed down there.

After more aimless wandering in Ben's old 'hood - we shockingly ended up at Spring Street Lounge for a little Lombardi's pizza and a few beers before bidding adieu to both the big city and our lovely visit with our dear friends.

Happy Birthday again to Ben! Big year ahead!
