Busy Busy Weekend - First DC

This past weekend we were away again ('tis the season!)- this time back east. First round of festivities began in DC where we went to celebrate John and Kate's nuptials. Friday night we went out to a TASTY meal with three other couples. I wish I could share the name of the restaurant with you- but due to travel, we had skipped lunch. Being pregnant and pretty into the eating thing- I was famished and unobservant. I can tell you that the bread bowl (of which I ate two entire bowls) was quite good, my salad was tasty, and my lobster and corn ravioli in a butter sauce was most satisfying. Not so satisfying that I didn't need my almond cake dessert - but satisfying nonetheless. Following dinner we hit the bars, where I think I put in a pretty decent show, staying out until about 2- though Ben beat me by hitting the bed around 4.

Saturday commenced with brunch in Georgetown, followed by pedis for the girls and black & tans by the pool for the boys. Next event? The wedding- which was beautiful as bride and groom were both handsome and lovely. The reception was at the Washington Golf & Country Club in Arlington, which had both a beautiful view of the National Cathedral, and an impressively groomed golf course. I was pretty concerned I'd lose Ben halfway through the reception to a round of golf, but the crab filled gazpacho shooters seemed to keep him pretty close to the festivities. Really the only sad part of the night was when I was reprimanded by club staff for having my shoes off- so I had to suffer through those d*mn heels all night. I'm pregnant! Aren't I supposed to be getting special treatment or something???
