Saturday's festivities were in honor of Miss Stella who turned the big 1! It was held at a park, and I made the mistake of walking Lucy past the jungle gym on the way to the group- she got very fixated and remained fixated on swings for the duration- so we finally ended up at... the swings. Stella is basically walking, super sweet and adorable with amazing red hair, and clearly does not know what to do with her cake just yet. She mashed it in her hands and had no interest in tasting it. Lucy was happy to take over. Special bonus for mommy was seeing Mary and Jaimee!
Saturday night we had a family dinner at a local pizza place with the Ryans. Lucy enjoyed playing with Claire and Brady quite a bit.
Sunday's birthday extravaganza was in honor of Hudson big 2nd birthday. They had everything from a bouncy house, to swimming, to trampoline, bubble machine, snow cone machine and face painting. We told Lucy not to take any notes for her own birthday, as we'll be saving up for the older years... when she has more memories or at least the capacity to demand more.
The bouncy house collapsed a couple of times due to short circuiting or something. Ben was inside for one of the occurrences and was pretty comfortable calling himself a "hero" in getting the kids out.
Lucy decided to skip the face painting and got a heart bracelet with glitter painted on instead. She thought it was very "princess" like.
Lucy kept asking me to get into the pool... whoopsie- forgot my suit much to everyone's relief! I spent the pool time enjoying the bowl of Starburst candies- feeling free to pick out only the red and pink ones and leaving the rest behind for the kids...
Needless to say- Lucy has a renewed love of cake or cupcakes, and likes to sing "Happy Birthday."
