December 2007

December 2007:

Happy Birthday to Mom on the 16th! Andrew on the 20th! Grams on the 23rd! and Heidi on the 25th! And Happy Anniversary to Mom and Dad on the 21st!

My parents came down early in December to go to Disneyland. It is absolutely incredible what they do with the lights there. Very fun for us to go back to the Happiest Place on Earth, given how much time we spent there growing up.

I continue to travel for work- and in December I was in both Vegas and Portland. Portland was fun because I was able to meet up with the Kammeijer family. Sadly I was only able to be there for a few hours- so I didn't get over to Mike and Judy's place, but I got to see Quinn and he's the cutest one in the family anyway. I am hoping to get another trip or two out of the project so I can spend some more time up there. A proper visit would also be in order...
Christmas was in Baltimore this year. There were loads of parties to attend, lots of food to eat. We celebrated Andrew's birthday, Ben and Andrew got dressed up in ridiculously festive ensembles for their own Christmas party, and even went to a Ravens game in the cold rain. Good thing Pete had the gear to dress us up warm.

And of course the puppies were back east with us and of course they were the cutest little elves you've ever seen! They enjoyed the holidays, the gifts and the toys. Jackson made friends with the Grinch, Charlie got tangled in ribbon, Jackson passed out from too much partying, and an exhausted Charlie finally packed himself up in a bag to go home. It's hard to be cute for people all the time. But with nothing more than cold-chapped noses and a curious case of pinkeye in Jack's case- the boys made it through an east-coast Christmas.

After Christmas we went up to NYC. I worked up there for a few days, but my family was also up there celebrating the holiday- so it was really nice for me to be able to see them all and also to be around to celebrate Heidi's birthday. We went to an amazing meal at Gramercy Tavern, hit up Lombardi's pizza, saw both Jersey Boys AND Xanadu, and enjoyed NYC together.

Ben and I were able to meet up with the Atwoods as well as Jamie and Devon one of our nights in NYC. First we went to Sarah's sister's ridiculous apartment right by Gramercy- I was about to move in and try out squatter's rights. Then we later met up at Pete's Tavern. I love NYC!

To celebrate Heidi's 30th- a whole slew of her crew and a few of mine all met at Cafe Noir.

Dinner was followed by late night dancing at Naked Lunch- just like the old days. I was out way past my bedtime. Heidi proved that even though she might be in the coug's category- she can still do it up proper.

We got back to Los Angeles the evening of the 31st. We unpacked and got settled and then went to Robin and Karl's house for New Years. After eating lots of baked brie and getting my ego crushed by guitar hero, Ben and I were exhausted given the 3-hour time difference. We rung in the New Year and bid adieu to our hosts at approximately 12:02.

Cheers to 2008!
